The Armitt Group, which has offices in Liverpool and Runcorn, appointed Sherrington Associates to help it recruit a new commercial director.
The executive search agency placed Nicholas Marshall with the company, and just over 12 months later, Nicholas’ work has included securing the site for a 120,000 sq ft facility on the back of a major contract win.
Sherrington Associates, which has its offices in the Chester Business Park, worked in partnership with The Armitt Group to ensure the new commercial director not only had the right skills and experience, but was an ideal fit for the shipping organisation.
The Armitt Group’s managing director, Charles Gray, said: “Finding the right person for such an important role in our business goes beyond what’s written on a CV or LinkedIn.
“That’s where Sherrington Associates really excelled. Rob and the team were able to understand quickly what sort of culture we have, and therefore what type of person would fit in well.
“The results speak for themselves. Nicholas was identified and introduced by Sherrington Associates and he’s slotted in perfectly alongside the rest of the team.”
Sherrington Associates’ founder and managing director, Rob McKay, said: “I’m always thrilled to see candidates we select perform well in their new roles. It’s the biggest metric when it comes to seeing how successful our project was.
“Nicholas’ knowledge and experience of the dry cargo market stood out very early on in the process. We knew through our assessments that he fitted with Armitt’s company culture.
“We’re looking forward to working more with the Armitt Group in the future.”
