Specialist recruitment company, Cast UK, will be drawing on the expertise of staffing sector aficionado, Gary Goldsmith, as a newly appointed non-executive director.
Described as one of the industry’s most colourful characters, Gary built the SThree PLC contract model and was a significant player in taking the business from being a UK brand to creating 41 offices in 15 countries worldwide.
Cast UK, which specialises in sourcing professional level procurement, buying, supply chain and logistics roles for FTSE 500 companies, sees the appointment as an integral aspect of the company’s next chapter of growth.
With 30 years notched up in the recruitment industry, Gary’s global business track record speaks for itself. He managed teams from the age of 23 and left his role at SThree PLC in 2006. Since then he has been working with high growth recruitment companies helping them achieve their goals.
Heavily committed to the sector, Gary is a consultant sales director, NED and co-founder of the Recruitment Directors Lunch Club and Gardean Human Capital.
He will bring additional insight to the board at the Manchester-based head office of Cast UK, supporting Wayne Brophy and his team on the organisation’s continued growth curve.
Wayne, who was recently announced as Entrepreneur in Residence at Lancaster University Management School, is a business owner with a sense of restless ambition, and a keen eye on harnessing emerging technologies to drive efficiency and enable his clients to access exceptional talent in their specialist fields.
Commenting on the appointment, Wayne Brophy said: “Gary is a man with a phenomenal career story and an appetite for success that has seen him realise his global ambitions. Our industry is evolving and where others see challenges we see opportunities. We’re looking forward to working with Gary on seizing those and making them part of the Cast UK success story.”
Gary Goldsmith added: “It’s a great opportunity to work with a team of agile thinkers who aren’t afraid to disrupt the market and create new ways of working. That ability to be bold, to commit to an idea and make it happen will be a massive driver in the future of this business.”
