Specialist recruitment company, Cast UK, has launched a new division focused wholly on interim and contract recruitment services.
The move reflects a 16 per cent year-on-year hike in Cast UK’s performance in this market as a recruiter sourcing experienced talent in procurement, buying and merchandising, supply chain and logistics.
The new division will help to drive the organisation’s continued growth and draws on the findings of the Recruitment and Employment Federation’s (REC) annual industry report, which states that 28.5 billion was achieved through temporary and contract business in its 2014/15 survey.
Wayne Brophy, managing director of Cast UK, also has a keen eye on technology as a driver of efficiency, having introduced a new cloud-based system for clients and contractors to approve and submit timesheets online. Cast UK has also introduced cloud software that allows them to set up self-bill agreements with their contractors, creating automatically generated invoices on the contractors’ behalf, in order to streamline processes.
The team will be headed up by managing consultant Mark Nesbit and will work across the sectors to source high calibre interim managers and specialists in contract work. The shift in the market reflects businesses’ needs to access short-term strategic skills – indeed 84% of hirers cited this as the catalyst for appointing contract workers in the REC report.
Drivers behind this shift in the market include changing operational models and accelerated technology disrupting traditional ways of working.
The new division will also help visionary SMEs to source Non Executive Directors with exceptional industry experience and a good cultural fit, to help drive growth. This has been instrumental in Cast UK’s own development and is something Wayne feels passionate about.
Commenting on the new team, Wayne Brophy, managing director of Cast UK, said: “Business is transient and if you stay still you risk falling behind. Our new division has been set up to meet a clear need in the market as organisations are increasingly open to alternative resourcing models, recognising this is pivotal to their growth.
“With an experienced team and an appetite for continuous improvement, our industry knowledge and ability to harness emerging technologies for the benefit of our clients and candidates will be key in the year ahead.”
